Can you talk a little about how that happens? I am struggling with getting gouache to dry as predicted - when look at the reflected light under the eaves here I think "how could he predict that value?!" Is it just 30+years of experience? I'm late to the game, I don't know if I have that long to get it right, haha!Virginia Fhinnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14232436299404731218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-78509556149430710412019-07-18T11:00:32.946-04:002019-07-18T11:00:32.946-04:00Hi James,
I love the color in your field paintings...Hi James,
I love the color in your field paintings so here’s a bunch of questions.
How closely are you matching the actual colors that you see? Do you get them somewhat close and then focus on temp and value organization? Do you interpret by pushing darks darker and lights lighter to create visual interest? Is there any other ways to develop the skill of mixing the color that you see other than practice?
ThanksTom C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13478462792463918954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-88518672866528785692019-07-18T03:27:59.651-04:002019-07-18T03:27:59.651-04:00How do you capture the final painting and what edi...How do you capture the final painting and what edits do you do before posting the image? I want to see how you painted the ‘grooves’ between the boards. Excellent illusion with the shadow/value variations. I have learned so much from trying to Paint along with your videos.Thank you for all of the demos you post. You have been a wonderful ‘virtual teacher’.
