Maybe it should be called "Dutch-discovered elm disease."James Gurneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01870848001990898499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-32213838418641859992008-05-22T16:46:00.000-04:002008-05-22T16:46:00.000-04:00Euhm I don't know about that Dutch in the disease,...Euhm I don't know about that Dutch in the disease, but it's not funny at all! They say they can be 300 years old.

When I wrote the post, I didn't have the heart to tell the epilogue of this story. The summer after I did the painting, the tree caught the infection and died. It was cut down by the autumn. Now I want to do more portraits of these old grandfather trees, because you never know.....James Gurneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01870848001990898499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-32723700861251315162008-05-22T14:20:00.000-04:002008-05-22T14:20:00.000-04:00Beautiful portrait, and a amazing painting.
