A lot of earth and dark colors. But I'd love to know for sure.
Regards,
Steve Zobelsteztoyzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04318275044927773879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-69908560531905239812018-02-09T12:40:27.645-05:002018-02-09T12:40:27.645-05:00Thanks, Charley. His watercolours were also quite tonal, and equally loose (he was a pioneer in the use of the squirrel mop brush). I think I read that he used only 6 colours for his landscape work, which captured the light and colour of the British countryside.David Webbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04625249236436381416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-79668771671112029192018-01-30T12:51:51.581-05:002018-01-30T12:51:51.581-05:00I love Seago's work. I'm still painting outside with big brushes and small canvas to force myself to see the big shapes and value patterns. Then I see this and it's like I'm using a club and he's using a scalpel. It's taking faith to believe my approach will get me there. Look at all the color he gets into the foreground of the twilight pastoral and the simple gestural brushwork of those silhouetted trees. wow.scottThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10033264210231543212noreply@blogger.com
