It so often turns out not to be a disastrous drop but a mere step off a curb, leading you across unknown territory to see what you need to learn, if nothing else. We all learned to walk despite a lot of falling down!Deborahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12576820565521582322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-2245051801461907982010-12-16T09:15:21.005-05:002010-12-16T09:15:21.005-05:00I really needed to hear this..

Fear of choosing the wrong fabric or color, fear of using certain colors, fear of trying a technique, fear of messing up the project, etc. I have often thought that using that word was a gender based decision and have wished that as women, we could all choose a different way of expressing this emotion. I see though that men may have the same problem. Our choice of words is so important in conveying something about us to the world at large. Thank you for bringing up the topic. I wrote about it myself just recently and I don't think that it can be discussed too much.Libby Fifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13532162740012986996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-24172966948377060022010-12-15T18:17:55.305-05:002010-12-15T18:17:55.305-05:00Oops had a misspell, that was me that just deleted...Oops had a misspell, that was me that just deleted. I'm a brand NEW Gurneyhead. I don't have the fear factor as much as I let the preconceived Frustration & Stress factor stop me from starting. I'm still wrestling with color & realism technique & get bent out of shape when things don't work out in my paintings.<br />Once I do go ahead & it works out half decent - I'm glowin' & crowin'. But come the next one I'm back with the reluctance again - but at least I'll eventually get back in the ring!Jim Maddoxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06731564712410614637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-82156658757246917702010-12-15T18:07:05.681-05:002010-12-15T18:07:05.681-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Jim Maddoxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06731564712410614637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-9280083519916208452010-12-15T17:47:29.013-05:002010-12-15T17:47:29.013-05:00Thanks for reminding us, and it seems it's eas...Thanks for reminding us, and it seems it's easier to tone down the fearless, wild ideas, than to shore up something less juicy.Celiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14485118642482033233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-77931694749488399612010-12-15T12:57:28.217-05:002010-12-15T12:57:28.217-05:00I always think of it like this: if I know what I&#...I always think of it like this: if I know what I'm doing, then I've probably already done it before.
