This broke my previous record of a measly 76 hours. I was extremely blessed that my house suffered no damage, but several friends have had flood damage and some houses on my street also flooded. It is just heartbreaking to see, but we are pulling together and helping each other out. And cleaning up after a flood is a filthy, nasty job.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14405589182635390916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-26317336729935068892017-08-31T21:21:34.759-04:002017-08-31T21:21:34.759-04:00I volunteered at a Red Cross shelter in New Braunf...I volunteered at a Red Cross shelter in New Braunfels, TX and it was pretty incredible. There are many people from different walks of life coming together to help. Monetary donations seem to be the way to go in the early days with contributions of goods later when the infrastructure is in better shape to handle them.

It also really puts a bad day in perspective and makes you thankful for the good things in your own life.Tyler Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07171434906811033069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-68848221989689983102017-08-30T16:12:19.476-04:002017-08-30T16:12:19.476-04:00Please everyone remember that although the situati...Please everyone remember that although the situation in Houston is awful and impacts an incredible number of people, that there is a huge area full of smaller communities with fewer resources that have also been hit just as badly. Houston was flooded by a tropical storm; the category 4 hurricane struck elsewhere and those people are in need of aid, too.
