Is Eagle Owl...Looks like a Great Horned Owl, to me. Is Eagle Owl a regional nickname?<br /><br />I attended an art opening here in Arcata, California, last weekend. The local Bird Rehab Volunteer unit was on hand with a Great Horned; also a Screech Owl, Spotted Owl, Peregrine Falcon, and a Red-Tail Hawk. They've all been rescued with injuries and kept among the living with broken wings, lost eyes, etc. I've been working on a Gryphon painting, and Miranda, the Red-Tail, looks exactly like what I've been painting. I probably spent half an hour studying Miranda VERY intently.
