What we do for our friends and family we can't put a price on. This whole project is a gift from the farmer to inner-city kids who want to learn what happens on the farm. Of course I, like every other professional artist, do charge for my career work, both services and products, but that's a discussion for another time.James Gurneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01870848001990898499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-65597865447228202232016-06-03T22:04:57.549-04:002016-06-03T22:04:57.549-04:00Hi James,

However, you obviously want to help out and you painted those animals for him. In many cases, if these are friends and the like, you can just do it pro-bono ( and not compromise on your pricing structure). However, you can't do it all for free. There are cases when you would love to sell work to someone, but you just know that they cannot afford your prices.
How do you strike a balance between staying consistent with your prices, and helping someone own your work - for whom a "gallery-like" price is simply too big of a stretch.
Thank you!
Martin
slice4ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06530586887884230648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-83627595563041087082016-06-03T21:19:31.233-04:002016-06-03T21:19:31.233-04:00Bill, you're right -- my knees felt it all day...Bill, you're right -- my knees felt it all day afterward.James Gurneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01870848001990898499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2999230124118604245.post-71350674814278695902016-06-03T21:03:53.682-04:002016-06-03T21:03:53.682-04:00Any reason you had to paint them on your knees?…OU...Any reason you had to paint them on your knees?…OUCH!
