ReplyDeleteI really was struck by the similarity in technique (or is it aesthetic) with you and some of these late 19th, early 20th century painters. The somewhat muted colors, composition and framing of figures seem to be the common qualities? The image promoting the show - by Frederick Arthur Bridgman - known as an orientalist - seems to be much in the vein of your work (or visa versa as this work precedes yours). Wish I could be there for the show and the talks! This show looks to have a lot of inspiring work.
Thanks for sharing this event, and exposing some great artists from the past.
