Well, that seems ageist! Being 53 and still not being 'discovered" or having the recognition I think my work deserves, this make sme mad! I realize they are wanting to help "up and coming" artists, but some of us take longer to come up!
ReplyDeleteI'm with my friend Tristan. I'm 57 and I still have a "burning desire" to be an illustrator, or rather resume being an illustrator after 10 years away from the field. To do this I am striving constantly to learn digital drawing and painting techniques, and improve my figure and creature drawing, so that I can produce the kind of exciting work that is bought nowadays. I'm hoping it's never too late to be succeessful in art.
ReplyDeleteThe deadline is the same day as my birthday! I hope my entry makes it in time.
ReplyDeletethanks for posting this James!
Actually, I think only one of us in the photo is 25 or under, hee hee.

Hi James, I just wanted to thank you so much for posting this. I happened to check your blog on the last day of the deadline, submitted, and was luckily chosen as one of the 10 winners. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have even known about the competition.
ReplyDeleteI'm also taking class with TAD right now and just heard that you will be doing something with them. Really looking forward to continue learning from you through that forum, and on your blog. All the best, Mia.
Congratulations, Mia! That has all to do with your art, and my blog only played a small part. Yes, I'll be teaching with TAD this October. I'm really excited!
ReplyDeletethanks James! Can't wait til October, then. :)
