In celebration of his work, the Hyde Collection of Glens Falls, New York, is hosting an exhibition called "Andrew Wyeth: An American Legend," consisting of about 45 drawings, watercolors and egg temperas.
The exhibition closes September 5.

I just returned from my first trip to the Brandywine. Had the pleasure of listening to Andrew's grand daughter Victoria talk about his work, and if you know Victoria she is a exploding with enthusiasm. Was an awesome trip! Love the Wyeth families work. Wish I could make the trip to this show.

ReplyDeleteVictoria was on WAMC public radio this morning with the curator Erin Coe and the museum director David Setford. She had some great stories about her grandfather, who sounded full of life and passionate about painting right up to his dying day.
I once had the extraordinary luck to visit Chadds Ford and see some of the Helga paintings. They were incredible and I will always be awe struck by Wyeth's work.
