A new innovative website features the work of Claude Monet by letting you interact with his paintings.
It begins by letting you topple over an inkwell. The splash turns into a series of encounters with his paintings. Discreet prompts invite you to use the mouse (or if you wish your webcam and microphone) to turn winter into spring, send a crow flying, and ripple the water.
It might take a while to load unless you have a fast connection.
That is pretty amazing... can't even imagine the programming that went into making that happen, let alone the animation.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I can't wait to share this with my children when they get home from school. Thank you so much for sharing this. -Alice
ReplyDeleteHey--
ReplyDeleteI would like to see you at one of your upcoming appearances in Cincinnati this week, but I click the link at left and it doesn't give me any real information. Do you have any info on how I can be there? when? where? is it a workshop or discussion or what? Let me know asap please! Sorry I didn't know how else to contact you. thanks
Jim, it's not so new - it was going at the time of the Monet exhibition a year ago - which I couldn't manage to get into :(
ReplyDeleteAmelia, I believe the events are all private in Cincinnati, but the one at CCAD in Columbus (two hours NE) is open:

Jon, it's new to me, and I just heard about that guy Monet last week.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing link James and very timely, thanks for sharing. My 9 year old came home today excited to tell us that they learned about Monet in school. Now the illustrator dad in me has a cool website to show him. :)
ReplyDeleteWell my favorite blogger and blog has wowed me yet again. I just loved this and sent it to many friends. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to go to the Monet exhibition last year it was beautifully done , all timed entries and as we were first throught the door wandered around at the head of the pack like a private viewing. 200 Monets in a long winding gallery space that seemd to be half a mile long. For its short duration this video brings a sense of that visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fun website.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for sharing the link.
