The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

Moonbot Studios of Shreveport, Louisiana, has produced this charming 15-minute animated film about the power of books to transform people's lives.

(Video Link) A terrible storm blows a man into another world where books can fly like birds. The crew says this wordless film was inspired in equal measure by "Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books."

The Academy-Award-nominated film mixes live action miniatures and CGI. It was directed by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, with music by John Hunter.

    Awww... what a sweet story. Reminds me of the opening sequences of "Up!". Leaves you feeling good. And very well produced, too. Thanks!

    This is great! One of my friends sent it to me last week and it made me smile. I love the how there isn't any talking or narration. I thought the storytelling was really well done. Thanks for posting it!

    I have had this as a children's book style of app for my iPad for about a year. It's great and my boys have a lot of fun with it.

    It really is a great story, makes you smile and cry a little, but they did an amazing job in the artwork and the telling of it!!
