Cardboard Bicycle

Is it possible to make a bicycle out of cardboard?

This video shows how engineer Izhar Gafni did it, using cardboard for the frame and for the wheels and spokes.

The video glosses over how he dealt with the high stress points, such as bearings, brakes, drive system, and head tube. Surely there must be metal parts there.

  1. someone else made a 22 caliber gun from a 3d printer and fired 200 rounds with it - it did have one or two metal parts though.

  4. I wonder if when the engineers said it couldn't be done they were referring to all of it. Chain, brake cables, etc.
