California has just announced sweeping new restrictions on water use that will affect working artists. The ban applies not only to watercolor, but also to acrylic, casein, gouache, and other water media. Pencils and pastels and other dry media are not affected.

CNN: California Drought: Gov. Jerry Brown issues mandatory water restrictions
Say it ain't so!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteCan they really do that?
ReplyDeleteHappy April to you too.
ReplyDeleteOkay this has to be an April Fools Joke...very nicely done....
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! Funny James! I am in California but since I only use imported water from non-drought affected states it does not apply to me! And if I want to do a snow painting I have a friend in Boston who sends me a cooler of snow which I melt into water and use to paint with!
ReplyDeleteSo there!
ha ha!
ReplyDeleteOn a more serious note: Once heard the story about Disney studios during World War II. Paint was scarce, and during those times Mickey Mouse having been depicted without tail in the movies,, just to save some paint.
Hoping no one would take notice...
Ha! I just came in from my studio where the announcement had just come from Jerry Brown about the unprecedented water restrictions. So, you had me for a second.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAAAA
ReplyDeletePosted to FB.
LOL. That will be reversed tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIf we can come to an understanding, I can easily send some shipments of dehydrated water to any Californians reading.
ReplyDeleteHappy April Fool's Day!
ReplyDeleteLaughing.
I'm not laughing. I very stupidly posted a watercolor yesterday and received a fine in the mail from the City of Fresno water department this afternoon.
