Santa Claus by James Gurney, Oil on canvas, 24 x 36. |
Here's my idea of Santa: biker dude meets the Coke Santa. The model was the real Santa from our small town who worked by day in the hardware store.
All my warmest wishes to each of you during this festive season.
Same to you, Jeanette and your whole family. Thanks so much for the amazing, daily gift of Gurney Journey!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, too! Have a fantabulous 2016, Gurney!

ReplyDeleteLove Santa's scuffed boots. He looks so...well, real. And he is real, of course! Many thanks to you for the huge amount of information and inspiration you share throughout the year. I enjoy your blog very much. Best of the season to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas James! And thank you (and others) for sharing your insights, knowledge and even questions! 2015 was an exciting year (older dog, new tricks). Can't wait to see what 2016 brings.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, every one! May the joy of the holidays last throughout the whole year. Peace and good will to all! -Roberto
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and thanks so much for your time and effort on this blog... even though I've bought some videos and books in return... I still feel like I'm getting the better end of the deal.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you all!!!
ReplyDeleteI just got your book, "Color and Light", in Mandarin version. It's very struggle for me to make a decision between English and Mandarin because all the book store sealed the book with plastic wrap. I couldn't check the quality of translation before buying. At the end I like it and the translation is very professional.
Big thanks and best wishes to you and yours James. I heartily agree and second arturoquimicos comment above!

Merry Christmas! This is an overwhelmingly- executed image; may I ask when it was made? (omg the boots, Man!)
ReplyDeleteA Dinotopia Christmas miracle! I was at a relative's house for Christmas Eve. Upon entering one of the bedrooms I saw three beautiful Dinotopia original artworks! At first I thought they were prints, but my wife's aunt told the story of helping with a Dinotopia exhihit at a mall here in Utah. Later on she was able to buy the three pieces I saw. What fun it was to see beautiful work when I least expected it. Thanks for always inspiring!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice 2016. Health and happiness for all your beloved ones.
