American Bulldog

Kane, American Bulldog, pencil and wash, 4 x 4 inches.
My cousin got his dog to hold still by slowly doling out snacks. Kane is a very patient model.

  1. James,

In the old tradition of Rien Poortvliet, Bob Kuhn, Wilhelm Kuhnert, Rosa Bonheur, Carl Rungius, Jose Luis Salinas, Heinrich von Zügel, etc

I have your 1982 Sketching Book (with Tom Kinkade) and there are a lot of animal sketches there.

By the way, a reprint of this wonderful sketching book would be great.

I know a lot of people starting in the beautiful world of the "new" art of sketching and they've never know about this treasure book. The best one about sketching I have ( and I have a lot of them)

    Great Drawing.

    Thanks, Master.

  3. Great job, James. You not only capture a great likeness but the sensitivity of the light and the nuance of character. Makes it a very stand-out piece.
