This reminds me of a series I saw in a magazine a long time ago. They were a series of paintings titled like..."Harboring a Grudge", or "Lodging a Complaint", where the Complaint and Grudge took ok the form of a monster in the illustrations. Don't know who did them but as I remember they were very well done.
ReplyDeleteSheridan, it sounds like the kind of thing Paul Coker used to do in MAD . . .
ReplyDeleteRobert, I looked up the MAD illustrations you speak of. They use the same idea, but are crude/cartoony renditions. The ones I remember were very real looking. The "Harboring A Grudge" one depicted a man at the front door of his living room, with the door opened a crack. There was a cop at the door obviously asking the man a question. Behind the man and across the room was a large monster like being. He was looking toward the door with a worried look on his face. It was all pretty realistically rendered.
ReplyDeleteI think they may have appeared in Scientific American or Science and Mechanics magazines.
