    Jim, did you prepare any maquettes for these series of paintings? Or were they produced purely from imagination?

    I referenced some of my own sculpts, and also a variety of maquettes made by my talented sculptor friends Dave Krentz, Tony McVey, and Mike Trcic, and I also looked at a lot of nature photos.
