aahhh...these hand made lettering signs - their art has mostly gone, thanks to virtual fonts. I'm glad you featured this unknown man. He deserves to be featured by James Gurney, himself a "man of letters";-)

I started doing gold leaf about a year ago. Needing some supplies I went to a local lettering shop and fell into the past. Although it was nothing like the painters shop in Austria and one felt as if a dying art was hanging on by a thread. Thank you so much for bringing this to the attention of us all, it's so hard to get that warm fuzzy feeling but I have it in spades now.
