I've started doing small studies in gouache as observing your fearlessness in approaching it has been a tonic. There is something about working small, and calling it a study that takes the pain out of painting. It dries quickly and produces wonderful effects. I am able to recognize gouache paintings when they pop up on Antiques Road Show much to my amazement. Thanks again James, a handshake in thought.
Hello Mr. Gurney, my question isn’t about gouache, but is about signing works that are intended for framing. I’ve signed my work in a color cohesive with the work’s color scheme, but I like that you have signed paintings in red...can you speak about signatures? Thank you.
I am an artist who has signed my work in a “color cohesive” color, and also in red (in my case, warm bright red). I have to say I prefer the red. I think that red goes with everything!
