Foam on the Water

Rapids in a small stream pull air bubbles underwater. Those submerged bubbles take on a soft warm glow and rise to the surface in ringlets that are lightest just below the standing wave. A few dots of foam are flung up into the air. I soften the focus on the rest of the image both to save time and to put the detail in the areas where I'm most interested.

  1. Nice! The water as convincing as the work of Zorn.

  2. This is really interesting. So the warm discoloration might be due to the white foam and the dirty water in between the surface while the dark sections reflect more of the sky. Awesome how you could capture such insights into nature !

  3. I tried a little waterfall last week with transparent watercolor but I need to plan and work through it better, it didn't turn out like I had hoped.
