Why Paint a Tiny Watercolor?


Here's a pocket vista of Baltimore in a tiny book (3.5 x 5.5 inches).

1. More portable.
2. Less expensive.
3. Less obtrusive.
4. Faster, more convenient.
5. Overcome inhibitions.
6. Try new technique or subject.
7. In good company (Turner, Rembrandt)

Painting big is fun, too. It's nice to switch it up.

    Painting in larger format also presents other frustrations, such as paint drying times, covering large areas with an even grade of color, etc. More technical issues that need to be addressed specifically. And lots of cussing (from me) in doing so LOL

    I would add “ Concentrate on big shapes “, to help you avoid superfluous details.
