Foliage: Textures and Tropism

Foliage is all about textures and tropism.


The split brush suggests the growth character of each type of tree.
 

The masses of leaves angle themselves to the light like a million little solar panels, a process called phototropism.

    It looks like all of your work is done in what I call Impressionistic Realism.
    Have you ever worked with more detail and sharpness?

    I usually feel intimidated by foliage and try to avoid to paint it in such detail, but you captured it very well. Looks great!
