I bought a beautiful deck (just in case I chickened out and it needed to be a wall decoration), located an indoor skate park near me, and, now, I just have to bring the two pieces together, plus a helmet and however much time it takes to learn how to go forward, stop, and maybe steer a little.
The local Blick Art Supply now carries blank decks for painting. (What kind of paint would that call for?) I've sternly told myself I'm not allowed to buy one until I learn how to ride.
(Worst case, Frida Kahlo did amazing work while bedridden, right?)
Nice. It would be a pleasure if you check out my blog and help me by giving me some great tips to make it better as I'm pretty new to the blogging world. theworldoffact.blogspot.com
Wow! Great Job, Jimi-Gi! The light-source appears totally convincing! Even the spectator is looking right at you! Fantastic! And the clouds! The way they surround the central figure and add so much to the over-all design. This doesn’t even look like a painting! such great technique!! and Howed you get those shadows so accurate? … wait a minute!… that shadow isn’t right! Your shadow on the skate-board is directly below you and runs along the middle and falls off the side, and the shadow on the ground has you way out on the TIP!! Whats with ThAT! I don’t know. James, May be you should be spending more time in your initial layout and compossitjion. I hope my critique doesn’t lead you to taking any drastic actions, after all it’s just a painting, or photo, or whatever. From one Fool to an other: Happy April 1st -RQ
Roberto, all credit goes to Michael Pronzato who took the photo, and Zachary Madere, my digital enabler. I'm about as good at Photoshop as I am at free soloing. But one can always learn, right?
Hahahaha..LOVe IT.Immediately started planning one I could take on my phone for next year!( see I figured you were jumping off that rail and Jeanette was below on the other side throwing the skateboard in the air.!)anyway I have several planned so need to take care of myself, I turn 68 next week.It also reminded me off my favorite of all your blog posts, painting while riding a unicycle!!
Given the option, I too vote for the PhotoShop thingee. If not a put-up job, I will pray that you recover from any man-threatening injury you may have suffered. Larry

This is such an epic pic! Totally bodacious, my dude.
Between this and the announcement of Jeff Koons' sudden retirement, I had an inspiring if jarring morning online. (link: https://hyperallergic.com/492754/jeff-koons-announces-retirement-from-art/ )

Ahhh, now that's an aspirational image for me!

Let’s see...April 1st...past history of April’s Fools postings...
I agree with Steve. You're Photoshoped into that photo—right?

That certainly looks convincing!
Also your pose in the air.
Just looks great :o)
Let's commemorate 01.04.

Must be april.
...and then he went into traction and we never saw another new posting for a year.
A year's "traction"? You mean James Gurney will end orbit and re-enter on 01.04.2020?
That's, like, totally radical, my duder!
Happy April Fool's Day to you, too! (You had me there for a sec....)

Gee, even when mid-air, you create a surprisingly pleasing composition-!

Yup, Lynnwood -- that's what I thought of, too! https://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/2009/09/unicycle-painter.html

Gee, you actually fooled me for a second- I wondered if you landed OK! Then I remembered it was April 1st.
This is such an epic pic! Totally bodacious, my dude.
