Plein-Air Concept Art

Here's a tease frame from one of the videos I'm working on called "Fantasy in the Wild."

One of the segments will show how I create a concept painting of a giant robot from start to finish on location at construction sites and fast food alleys. This is the maquette, made of construction foam.

That's amazing, never though one could make a maquette on location. Did you do any pre-planning or did it just come out as you were building it?

The foreground miniature approach to painting -- for a practical, "in-canvas" composite! I can't wait to get this video!

Fabio, I should have explained that I made the maquette in my workshop, and did the rest on location.

Awww..so cute! Ironic that when you submit comments it says "I am not a robot". :(

"Fantasy in the Wild" is beyond tantalizing! I don't think I've come across anyone who's made a book or video about plein-air concept art in this manner! Many young budding concept-artists would love to see this :)
