Stopping to Sketch in Ohio

We're driving across country to a couple of workshops in  the Rocky Mountains, but we stopped in Ohio yesterday to paint alongside the railroad tracks. (Link to YouTube)

I rode through this area of Ohio on a freight train on a much earlier sketching adventure. It was near here that I was kicked off the train by the Willard, Ohio police department.

I'm using the limited palette called Gurney's Casein 6 Pack

James, Attica isn't my hometown, but it isn't far from it. What a treat to see someone else find beauty and interest in the small towns there. I hope you enjoyed your stop.

I'm in the Colorado Rockies. What workshops are you doing out here, any I could join? Thanks-
By the way I'm a painter/illustrator trying to get into pro-paleoart and your remote instructions have been a big help and inspiration. Thank you! Philip Newsom www.newsomart.com

Hello James, I am enjoying your book Imaginative Realism, it is such an inspiration! What workshop in the Rockies are you headed towards and is there any room in it for another person? Thank you for your reply about not making it over to Hawaii. Mahalo & Alohas

Hi James,
What other cities and states did you pass through on the freight train trip? Did it take a week or more? great sketch by the way.

erc, some of the highlights were traveling from LA to Yuma AZ on boxcars and from Poplar Bluff to Willard Ohio on car carriers. It took a few months.
