Painting the Campfire

Painting expeditions are close to home these days. This time I just walk to the backyard to capture the warmth of the campfire.

As William Shakespeare said, "Fire that's closest kept burns most of all."

Smooth the rescue husky chews on a deer's leg bone that he found deeper in the forest.

Your life looks idyllic. Painting your fire! Winter snow! Dog!

Admire your willingness and capacity for working with cold fingers. I’ve tried gloves without finger tips and, for me, they seem to accentuate how cold my finger tips are — colder than with no gloves at all.

What fun, did you mix the paint with alcohol to keep it fluid? Or just snuggle up close to the fire?

Speak after me:"A wash of gouache!"
