Business Cards, Illustrated

A restaurant in our hometown long ago established a tradition inviting people to shove their business cards in the cracks between the shingles covering its interior walls. The result was hundreds of cards festooning the walls beside every table.

From time to time I plucked a few of cards at random and stuck them into a sketchbook, wondering what was the secret behind each business. Here are two examples.

Maybe I'm sick, but I misinterpreted the reason for the expression on the man's face in the first illustration before I noticed the plank on his head.

The first card also reads in small type : 'fully insured'.
I don't know about you but when a carpenter reviews my project and then agrees to do it with the words:
"Yessirr, no probs, I can dowit and don'worry, I'm FULLY INSURED !!!"

I had a whole different image in mind for the "Wake Up With Wood" card...definitely not family friendly though...

Clever!
Dunno if you should show the phone numbers and maybe even the addresses?

Tom: the business cards are over 25 years old, and both the phone numbers and addresses are obsolete. Also, I found them literally posted in a public place, so as Matthew said, for what it's worth, this is another form of free advertising.

I have to admit I thought the same thing with the "Wake Up With Wood" card. It reminded me that there's a business local to my area called "Rod Johnson's Heating and Air."
