Broadmore exhibit in Switzerland

The Maison d’Ailleurs (Museum of Science Fiction and Utopias) in Yverdon, Switzerland recently announced the opening of “Dr. Grordbort’s Exceptional Experience” (La très extraordinaire expérience du Dr. Grordbort’s).

The show chronicles the exploits of a retro-future Victorian adventurer conceived by author, sculptor, painter, and designer Greg Broadmore. Broadmore is also a concept artist for Weta Workshop, helping to imagine the characters, creatures, and weapons of Avatar, District 9, and Lord of the Rings.

The exhibit will continue through August 21, 2011.

Ooooh yes... Just exactly what I need - more eye candy to take me away from actual drawing. But - so it is!

I haven't read Dr. Grordbort yet, but find the art fascinating. These Weta guys are geniuses... as someone mentioned the last time you wrote about Weta: it's terribly exciting to see there's a connection between James Gurney and Weta, or put in another way, that people who have fleshed out Pandora and Middle-earth are friends with the creator of Dinotopia. Whatever that connection might mean. ;) Happy Easter in advance, Mr. Gurney.

I had the chance to be at the opening of this very funny exhibit. There are not only very nice digital paintings but a lot of outstanding objects. :-)

Man, I spent half of San Diego ComicCon drooling over this stuff, it's awesome that it has it's own museum.
