The farmer Lenny stopped his mower to tell us that there's something new in the incubator: brand new Polish chicks.
I have seen full grown Polish chickens before at the county fair. They've got the big bouffant crown and the v-shaped comb, making them look like rock stars. The chick versions have just a fuzzy blob up top, like a cotton ball stuck on top of their heads.

According to Wikipedia they are from Japan...
We had a few chickens while I was growing up. I miss the baby chicks and the whole raising pet chickens thing.
when i saw the title i thought it was going to be about those cuties on the Polish National Woman's Volleyball team ;)
As amusing as the adults are, the chicks are just adorable.
so nice. we have to little polish babies that look just like this one and a older golden laced polish roster named "Casanova". puff tops are so quirky,spunky and fun, i love them. hope you paint it again when it matures.
