Fast-growing chickens

Look how big those white-crested Polish chickens are getting!

They're less than a month old, but now they've developed a pretty impressive crest of feathers.

After I did the portrait sketch, I picked up this little hen. She's getting strong, alert, and fast. Pretty soon she and her siblings will leave the incubator and live in the outside coop.

So sweet.
They look like little Big birds minus the yellow.

Another great (apparently) easy little watercolor.

Love all these.
Any plans to ever put them all in a book?

David, yes, I hope to put my sketches into a book or two.

I wasn't sure where to post this question about animal sketching, but how would you suggest drawing the facial features of a black cat?

Tim: Sometimes the black fur can make it hard to see the features, so you might practice a bit first on a cat with lighter fur. Then wait until the cat is sleeping and work first in pencil. Draw the simple outside shape first and then place the features carefully.

Thanks, everybody!
