Blog Nods

Thanks to Children's Atheneum for naming me Illustrator of the Week!

I'm grateful also also to Blogs of Note (put together by the team at Blogger) for putting GurneyJourney in today's spotlight.

James: have you ever seen that video of the huge wooden puppets (including an elephant) that paraded through the streets of Paris? Beautiful. This artwork reminded me of that.

Congrats on the Blog of Note recognition, James. You definitely deserve it.

Get ready. Have fun riding this out. I was blog of note a couple of months ago, had thousands of hits in a day. The week was phenominal.

Lovely blog :)

But the picture struck me, is this Dinotopia?? It really does look like it as I had the book when I was young.. you never know it might still be around on my shelf somewhere :)

Thanks, everybody, for your congrats. To be honest, I wasn't aware of Blogs of Note before, but I am now! It really boosted the traffic, and I'm so happy to have new visitors, and thanks to the early believers (yo, Dan!).

Rebecca, yes, I think you mean the giant puppets from Nantes. I saw the elephant when I was there a few weeks ago.

ArchiveGirl--I'm the Dinotopia guy. Glad you enjoyed the books.
