Thanks for the interview, Mr. Gurney.
James, You are one interesting guy. Great interview. Thanks for sharing it.
Made it very funny and great !
This interview is so interesting James. Thanks for sharing.
Love your answer about the difference between working from life and working from imagination. In the first, you have to be an editor, and in the second, you have to be the creator. Had never thought about it this way before.
I'd like to hear a little about the other fantasy works you have in mind.
Many profound insights in this interview. I like your answer concerning science, art and imagination. I know scientists who see art as a respite from the rigors of science, and artists who turn to science for imagery and subject matter, but not so many that pursue both as inquiry through imagination. This approach is very evident in your work - the supporting details are observed and rendered with fidelity above and beyond the requirements of narrative, while also contributing to the compositional structure and emotional content of the picture.

Thank you James for a really insightful interview. Love your blog, studio and work. You are an inspiration not only to myself but I'm sure many others out there
Great insights, James, thanks!
I sometimes lament that my generation doesn't have Walt Disney, but on further thought we actually do. His name is James Gurney. Thank you so much for sharing your vision, art and humour!
