Ride on an iceboat

Today I had my first ride ever on an iceboat. Reid Bielenberg invited me aboard the Vixen, a lateen-rigged ice yacht from 1885 once owned by John A. Roosevelt, FDR's uncle.

There were over 30 iceboats on the Hudson today, the best conditions they've seen in decades.

Yacht seems a bit...ostentatious a word for that matchstick. :)
