Teaching Concepting in the Wild

The assignment for my workshop students was to bring an action figure and a sketchbook and to meet in Parc du Canada.

They brought everything from hippos to solar powered robot dogs.

They did a brilliant job of enlarging them, making them flying or climbing buildings.

Mayhem in Montreal, gouache and watercolor, 5 x 7 inches.
Here's my demo, done in watercolor and gouache. We all had a great time, and I'm really excited by the creativity and enthusiasm of all the students.

Really nice, I wish I could participate too.
Do you have any plan of doing this kind of workshop somewhere in Europe at some point?

Can you show us some of your student's work?

John, sorry, I didn't get photos of it, but maybe some people will post on Facebook or Twitter. Look for the hashtag #ssgm2016

Hi James,
It was a pleasure seing you in Montreal sketching, this weekend.
Please let me know if you give a Watercolor workshop there, or around the area. I would love to go.
I really loved the work your wife does too! The sketching+ watercolor in her book. Wish I could sit down and flip through all the pages!
My best to you and your wife.
Sincerely,
Louise Boyer
