Google has cooperated with the Prado in Spain to scan major works in the museum in a fully searchable and interactive format, built on the Google Maps model. You can zoom right up to the paint texture of your favorite works.

I love Google Earth and this Prado project is an absolutely amazing enhancement to it. Wow! Thanks for sharing this. I didn't know it existed.
How do you find all this stuff? I've got my new Windows on Nature book, bubble pipe and thermometer,rearranged my library, and now this.
as soon as i discovered this post, i rushed on google earth to check out by myself... astonishing!
the pictures resolution is so huge! they might have used a real heavy equipment!!

Oh Google...This is a pretty neat project. This reminds me a lot of the Last Supper scan a group of people did about a year back, I think.
Is it just me, or does it seem that if you get to work at Google, you have an almost unadulterated access to technology?
At three hundred twenty four dollars a share Google looks cheep. They already rule the world but they're not sitting on thier laurels.
