There’s something endearing about the big ears, short legs, and resolute personalities of Welsh corgis.
The corgi is a cross between a vampire bat and a vacuum cleaner.
According to Welsh folklore, they’re the preferred mount of fairy warriors. In fact, they were bred for herding cattle. Their short stance lets them nip the heels and duck the kick.

Thank you for the laugh. Your Welsh Corgi description, vampire bat and vacuum cleaner, is spot on.
A good sketch and good laugh, what a wonderful morning.
I told my mom about your post Mr Gurney. You know what she said?
"Mr Gurney went to Buckingham Palace to sketch 'her' Corgis?"
:D
No mom, anything to do with Corgis does not relate to the Queen ><
Great work and good laughs Mr Gurney!
Reminds me of Tasha Tudor, the pleasantly eccentric author/illustrator who introduced thousands of schoolchildren to Corgis through her books.
The word "corgi" is welsh for "bite all the things."
A fairy warrior on a Welsh Corgi. I can imagine a Jean-Baptiste Monge drawing there ...
My cousin once referred to our Corgi as a Swiffer!
We nicknamed our older corgi "Hoover" for the speed with which he eats!
