Snow Scene with Juncos
In this new YouTube video I paint the view from my breakfast window: snow on the rhododendron, with juncos perched on top. Strap on your headphones — this one will have immersive 3D audio.

So you are in the NSFW industry now. Sorry, I meant ASMR! Very interesting experience! As if I were between you and the painting paper! How did you do that THIS immersive?
I know you're joking, but I don't think of ASMR as much of an industry, and I didn't play it up very much as "ASMR video". It's just a video with a more than usual attention to a stereo sound capture. I recorded the sound with Rode Wireless Go mics.
I could not resist bringing that NSFW-joke :-)
Did I see right, you had them mounted to your headphones? Cool idea. An amazing experience!
With the painting it was the same as always: I sit there, watching you put blobs of colored water from an oversized brush here and there, and I think: I could do that, too! Then you go on, putting other blobs seemingly random on the paper and I think: Can´t be THAT hard! A few moments later you add a few speckles and the whole picture pivots to: How did he do that? I could never reach that level of skill! Frown!!
BTW: Greetings from Luebeck/Germany to your wonderful wife Jeanette and the rest of your family. Love the glow in her eyes when she talks to you and when she sees your work!
Lynnwood here:) Thank you James.If that wasn't a lesson about how to be happy,it was a beautiful illustration of what it looks like :))A p.s. if it's not to late about the gurney grid! I have one of those gizmos invented by John Pike,the plastic grid is tinted blue to make values easier to read,and it has a magnetic border with two thin moveable magnetic strips that you can align with roof angles, measurements ,etc. to transfer to the grid on your paper.Its a bit of a juggling act if you're not working with an easel and it's smaller than the 9x12 paper I like using en plein air and I thought it would feel very mechanical too I had it w long time before I actually tried it and yes,I was surprised too! It felt intuitive and fun and really made you look harder at the subject!Like somehow those forms were more... interesting...in some way!?? You blog is my first inspiration every day and makes me feel like painting band drawing .I have a lot more time noW... just retired after 45;years as a pastry chef!!
