I went and read the rest of the article. Fascinating and horrifying. You almost expect it to come to life and start sucking life out of you, like in Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes.
I saw this creepy video of the park a few weeks ago. This is the perfect setting for a zombie apocalypse movie.
Wow now those are some pretty classic creepy creatures of what could be a side show. Yikes!
Wow these are really eery, I looked at the article too-and the other pictures were really awesome as well. I hope they do something with the amusement park, its sad to look up at an abandoned roller coaster for some reason.
They would make a great Fellini movie!
ok. I reallllly want to take a trip to New Orleans now. JUST so I can sneak in and take pictures of this. My artwork focuses on post apocalyptic scenarios and this would be worth getting arrested for. Maybe. =P
Thanks for sharing this link to more awesome abandoned places. I thought I was alone in my weird obsession with abandoned and decaying places. I'm not into the zombie movies or video games but I love abandoned places because they have so many untold stories buried beneath all that decay.
