Detroit revived, thanks to artists
(Video Link) When the big media outlets report on Detroit, Michigan, they dwell on the rotting hulk of a dead industrial-opolis. But that's not the whole story.
This video shows what happens when a neglected American city gets loved by artists and musicians—instead of by big corporations or politicians.

Indeed, i found it inspiring too for it shows how artists can affect the communities the live in in most positive of the ways :)
So Detroit isn't a rotting hulk of a dead industrial-opolis; it is rather a rotting hulk of a dead industrial-opolis with a garish fauve/expressionist paint over by squatter hipsters. What could be more utopian than that?
Etc. I'm sure there's room for realists and traditionalists, too. In fact, I know some of them.
thanks for that video James. I used to work in Detroit heavy hauling steel trucking and always was in the run down parts of Detroit. I used to tell people that Detroit is the scariest place on earth and I have been to every major U.S. city and most of the world. Now that I am a artist this is a whole new fresh perspective on Detroit.

Wonderful video, thank you. And living proof that the more diverse a city's income the better its prospects. One industry cities, no matter how vibrant they are right now are always prone to a CorpRat meltdown.
