Efficiency is not the main goal in art. Sometimes in the controlled conditions of the studio you might want to throw away the clock. But having those skills can really help when you're facing the rapidly shifting conditions of just about any outdoor motif.

I just got my advance copies. I'm not sure if it's on the stands yet. You might give it a week or two to be sure.
In anticipation of the article, is efficiency a skill intentionally practiced or is it more a result of a more wholistic development of all skills? becoming quicker seeing, mixing, nailing perspectives, etc....
Thomas, it comes of practice, and a kind of time-motion awareness. The key is to pick up the pace without sacrificing accuracy.
Do you also talk about setting up more efficiently? I've never gotten a good rhythm for setting out my palette colors, putting out brushes/rags, etc. indoors or outdoors. -Jane
Not on sale here in Louisiana yet. You’re in June and July and so is Colley but it’s that efficiency article in Aug Sept I’m really excited about.
