Dana Lamb, professor at the art school at Cal State University, Fullerton, California, reports that the students in the cartooning class recently completed an assignment inspired by this blog and the book Imaginative Realism.
Here are a couple of vehicles by Salim Ramirez and Meg Waldow, based on their sketches of insects and old car parts. Nice work!

Hello Mr. Gurney, I'm glad to see that your book is beginning to make an impact on the classroom. I myself have personally grown a lot as an illustrator since attending your seminar and beginning to study your book, which all of my teachers at ccad highly recommend. Chris Payne gave me an assignment based off of the "copies from the masters" section of your book, and I can't even begin to explain how much that has helped me. It's an amazing book and It has helped me further my education as an Illustrator. Thanks.
