Meet Hiram and Joe, two pals from Brooklyn and Queens. They're my entry for New York's "Wear a Mask" video contest, which is the brainstorm of Governor Andrew Cuomo's brilliant daughter Mariah. The goal is to communicate the message about the importance of wearing masks. The winning 30 second video will be used as an official public service announcement. (Link to YouTube video) New York State has challenged creators to make a 30 second public service announcement about wearing masks. The goal to stop the spread of the coronavirus. I thought the message would come across better with puppets, so I enlisted Hiram, a puppet I made in high school, and built a new puppet named Joe so the two friends from Brooklyn and Queens could joke around about it.
